Using the Sun to Keep Cool

Australia’s University of the Sunshine Coast, is using sunshine to cool the campus. 6000 solar panels generate energy, which is stored in a giant water battery. The battery, a 3-story tall thermal energy tank, powers the University’s air conditioning. It has already cut their electrical usage by 40% and drastically reduced their greenhouse gas emissions!
