Stone Age Chewing Gum

A student brought a piece of birch pitch, that had been used as chewing gum thousands of years ago, to a paleogeneticist, wondering if DNA could be retrieved from it. The gum held enough DNA, to find out that a Stone Age woman with dark hair and blue eyes had chewed it, 5700 years ago!
