Physicists have created the world’s thinnest magnet. The material is only 1 atom thick! Unlike other 2-dimensional magnets, it can work at room temperature. The magnet was made by combining graphene oxide, zinc, and cobalt, then baking it in a vacuum. The result is a flexible magnetic film, with endless possibilities.
