The Water’s a Bit Hot

Scientists recently discovered 6 possible new animal species, in the Gulf of California. The creatures live around hydrothermal vents in the ocean floor, where 549° Fahrenheit water, shoots out of 80-foot-high mounds. Roundworms, crustaceans, mollusks, arrow worms, and bristle worms, were found thriving in the searing temperatures, as well as lots of bacteria.
