A New Hideout

When a wildfire sweeps through an area, it often leaves animals homeless. In Australia, Dr Alexandra Carthey created cardboard wildlife shelters, to protect animals from predators. The biodegradable pods give creatures like bandicoots, possums, and geckos, a place to hide. As plants grow through holes in the shelters, the pods decompose into the landscape.
