Aurora borealis, or the Northern Lights, are colorful light displays in the sky that usually occur over northern polar regions. Tonight, the Northern Lights may be competing with fireworks, further south. In the United States they could reach as far as Michigan, New York, and Iowa! Look with your phone’s camera, for better colors.
