Sprites Spotted Over Oklahoma

Last week, photographer Paul Smith took pictures of sprites in Oklahoma. No, not the mythological fairy-like creatures. Sprites are large electrical discharges in the sky. They look like pinkish-red columns, or jellyfish-shaped flashes of light, far above thunderstorms. You might spot a sprite if you watch a distant storm, and look above the clouds.
