Did you know it’s Groundwater Awareness Week? Groundwater is the water under the Earth’s surface. It’s found in the cracks and spaces, of underground rocks and soil. Large bodies of porous rock, called aquifers, can hold loads of water. That could be where your tap water is coming from! Even Mars had groundwater!

Pancakes and Perennials

The Girl Scouts were started in 1912. It’s Girl Scout Day, so buy some of their cookies! Then go to IHOP, to celebrate National Pancake Day, with free pancakes! It’s also Plant A Flower Day. Plant some pretty perennials, which are flowers that return every year. If it’s still too cold, start some seeds inside.

Proud to be an Old Lady

The world’s oldest living person was verified by Guinness on Saturday. Kane Tanaka, a Japanese woman, is 116 years and 68 days old! She celebrated with a ceremony and belated birthday cake. When asked which part of her life she’d enjoyed most, she answered, “This right now.” She waited a long time for that record!
