Rob Walker has a newsletter called The Art of Noticing. In the latest edition, he writes about Australian artist Michael Pedersen, who does street projects under the name, Miguel Marquez Outside. Michael created The Urban Weed Awards, and installed a fancy plaque and ribbon, celebrating the Tallest Weed! Notice the exceptional, in ordinary things!

Don’t Eat the Piano

The Go Creative Festival, in Almaty Kazakhstan, is serious about creativity. It featured students who had made a piano, out of bananas! The banana keys were connected to electronic components, then plugged into a computer. You just have to be careful not to play with too much force, or you’ll squish the bananas!

Royal Caribbean International is hiring someone to travel the world, go on adventures, and take pictures to post on social media every day. The official job title is “Shore Explorer,” and it pays $135,000 a year! Someone will get the best job ever!

Midnight to the Rescue

A dog in Minnesota, named Midnight, is now nicknamed Lassie, after leading his human to a woman who needed help! Tim Curfman had noticed his dog acting strangely, so he followed Midnight outside. The dog led him to his 87 year-old neighbor, Noreen, who had fallen during the winter storm! Midnight saved her life!

Poop With a Purpose

Would you want to live in a house made of poop? It might sound gross, but Australian scientists have devised a way, to turn the biosolids form wastewater treatment plants, into bricks! The sterilized poo-bricks take less energy to make, and keep houses cooler than clay bricks. They’d also keeps biosolids out of landfills!
