At 6:02 on 10/23, Avogadro’s Number is represented. 6.02 x 10^23 is roughly the number of particles per mole.

Cows Give Milk-Flavored Milk

Attention! Chocolate milk doesn’t come from brown cows! A recent study of 1000 adults, showed 48% of them didn’t know where chocolate milk came from, and 7% thought it only came from brown cows. For the record, chocolate milk is just milk with chocolate syrup added. But I wonder if strawberry milk comes from pink cows!

Mona Lisa Got a Little Salty

About 200 people gathered in Soka Japan, to make the world’s largest rice cracker mosaic. Using 7 different flavors of Sokasenbei crackers, they recreated Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa. The mosaic covered 126 square yards, and used 23,360 tasty crackers. After lots of photographs, they ate the artwork bite by bite!

That Can’t Be Natural

Last week, NASA took a photograph of Antarctica that shows a totally rectangular iceberg. Although it looks man-made, it’s actually perfectly natural. It’s called a tabular iceberg, with nearly vertical sides and a flat top. The crisp angles occur when a chunk breaks off the ice shelf. The largest was a 4,200 square mile giant!

Dunkirk France has become the largest European city to provide free bus rides for everyone. It’s had a huge impact on the city of 200,000. Even visitors travel for free, so there’s less air pollution, more people having conversations, and more mobility for the young and old who don’t drive. It makes getting around easy!

Baby Giraffe Needs a Name

The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory in Minnesota needs your help, to name their new baby giraffe. The calf’s parents are named Daisy and Skeeter, and they can’t decide whether to name their daughter Lily, Tulip, or Penelope. If you want to help, you’ll have to visit the nearly 6-foot tall baby today, and vote!
