The leopard eel, or reticulated siren, is an amphibian that scientists have been trying to study for many years. The giant salamander has been spotted only occasionally, in the waters of Florida. It’s green with purple spots, has large external gills, a 2 foot-long body, and a single pair of legs!

A nutritionist has caused an internet uproar, after suggesting a healthy serving of French fries would be 6 fries. Six. I could see swiping that many from your brother, but it would be very disappointing to order fries and get only 6! Maybe we should eat a normal portion of fries, but just not as often.

A homeless man stopped by the Sumner Food Bank in Washington to get some food, but found a bag of money instead! Kevin Booth had found $17,000, left on the doorstep. He gave it to the food bank when they opened, knowing it could help many more people than if he kept it himself!

Henk Laarmans bought a painting at a thrift store in the Netherlands. For a thrift store painting, the price of $85 may have seemed a little high. But after taking it to an expert, Henk discovered his painting was by Johan Aarts, a pointillist painter. He sold the artwork at an auction, for over $34,000!

A 9 year-old boy in Severance Colorado, learned about an old law on a field trip to his Town Hall, that prohibited the throwing of missiles, including snowballs. Dane Best thought it was unfair to kids who wanted to have snowball fights. Dane gave a speech to the Town Board, and got the law changed!

Soccer fans got to see a great save at a game in Argentina. During a Federal A league match, between Juventud Unida and Defensores de Belgrano, the goalkeeper nearly scored on himself when a ball he kicked, ricocheted back towards his goal. But a dog ran out and knocked the ball away! Nice one!
