Scientists have figured out how to make fossils in a day, instead of millions of years. Using a process called artificial maturation, they compressed samples in sediment using a hydraulic press, then heated them to 410 degrees Fahrenheit. By understanding what molecules withstand fossilization, scientists will know what to look for in real fossils.

On July 29th, organizers hope to register 400 skaters to form the world’s longest chain of roller skaters. Skaters are required to skate 1/4 mile without letting go. Good luck skaters! Don’t trip!

Italian scientists have discovered a lake on Mars! However, the liquid is nearly a mile under the southern polar ice cap. Using a radar instrument on the Mars orbiter, the team was able to detect the sub-glacial lake, which measures 12 miles wide. Although the water’s probably extremely salty, it’s possible it contains microbial life!

Exploration Acres in Lafayette Indiana, has created a Stranger Things corn maze! Corn was planted using GPS-guided tractors, to grow into an a-mazing image of the popular tv series. Covering 20 acres, the maze has 10 miles of paths, and will open in mid-September. Just watch out for the Demogorgon!

2 Sri Lankan leopard cubs, born 2 months ago at Burgers Zoo in the Netherlands, had their first veterinary check-up last week. Now that they finally know the cubs are a boy and a girl, they can give them names! Sri Lankan Leopards are endangered, with only about 1000 left in the wild.

Pennsylvania teen Theo Mihellis started playing pool less than a year ago, but he’s already set a new world record! The 14 year-old master of trick shots, landed the highest jump pot on a pool table going in the corner pocket. The ball had to jump over a bar 16 inches high!
