Two baby eagles that hatched in March need names! The parents, Liberty and Justice, have raised two eaglets almost every year since 2005, when they built their nest in Washington, D.C. In March, Portugal generated enough renewable energy through wind and hydro power to supply the entire country with power for a month! By converting wind and water to electricity, Portugal saved the Earth’s atmosphere from 1.8 million tons of carbon dioxide. I hope more countries will follow their lead. Thank you, Portugal, for giving the planet cleaner air!

Montannah Kenney, a 7 year-old girl from Texas, became the youngest female to hike to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. The dormant volcano in Tanzania is the highest peak in Africa. She wanted to climb the 19,341 foot mountain with her mom, in order to get closer to her dad in Heaven and say “hi” from above the clouds.

When ants set out looking for food, they leave a scent trail so that they can find their way back to the nest, as well as lead others to the food source. Scientists have discovered the scent might not be produced by the ants, but by bacteria living in their abdomen! Cool!

Tazio Gavioli’s cat, Kali, lost a paw after a car accident. Inspired by Kali, the Italian man started doing strength training with one arm. He’s set one-armed climbing and explosive pull up records; the latest confirmed world record was for most consecutive pinky pull ups. He did 23 pull ups in a row using only his pinky fingers!

When a large meteor hits the Earth’s crust, the impact melts the rock, forming tiny glass spheres called tektites. The impact from a meteor that hit the Earth 800,000 years ago scattered tektites over a 6800 mile surface, but scientists are still hunting for where it hit. Microtektites the width of a hair may lead them to the impact crater!
