Sesame Street Goes to Syria

The MacArthur Foundation awarded 100 million dollars to the International Rescue Committee and Sesame Street for their program to help young refugees. A version of Sesame Street made especially for Syria will be available for kids displaced by that country’s civil war. Hopefully watching Sesame Street can give Syrian refugees some hope and happiness!

Is Mars a Big Sponge?

Scientists believe Mars used to have water billions of years ago and thought the solar winds dried out its atmosphere. New data shows Martian rocks can hold much more water than Earth rocks. It’s possible Mars could just be a big sponge that soaked up all the water and is still holding it underground!

Did you do a science fair project at your school this year that could change the world? 17 year-old Cynthia Sin Nga Lam created a device to sterilize water using light. 16 year-old Olivia Hallisey developed a quicker, more stable test for Ebola. 15 year-old Kenneth Shinozuka invented a device to keep Alzheimer’s patients safer.
