A pair of parrots who had flown away from the London Zoo, have been found. Blue-throated macaw sisters Lily and Margot, took off after a free-flying exercise last week. They were spotted 6 days later, 60 miles away. When the birds saw their zookeepers, they flew right down to the keepers’ outstretched arms.

Today is Candy Corn Day. The yellow-white-and-orange candies were invented in the 18-hundreds. If you stack them up, they look like an ear of corn. Try the Turkey Dinner pack, with green bean, stuffing, and coffee flavors! Later, celebrate Haunted Refrigerator Night. Time to clean out the moldy leftovers hiding way in the back.

Just in Time for Halloween

A flight crew in Colorado, discovered a stowaway on a flight from Costa Rica. A blackback land crab, also known as a Halloween crab due to its orange and black coloring and jack o’lantern-like markings, had hitched a ride on the plane. The crab now has a new home, at the Denver Zoo.

Rains Bring Desert Back to Life

Morocco’s southeastern desert, has been getting an unusual amount of rain. As a result, dry lakes are filling up, and the desert is green again. The basin had been dry for nearly 20 years. The replenished ponds and lakes are bringing more tourists and wildlife, all enjoying it while it lasts.

Let the Squirrels Do All the Work

If you’re too lazy to carve a pumpkin for Halloween, maybe squirrels can help you. Make small holes where you want the eyes and mouth to be, and spread some peanut butter in them. Hopefully, squirrels will chew the pumpkin to get every scrap of peanut butter, and you’ll have a scary jack o’lantern!

I Sure Hope Everybody Wants Seconds

Terry and Candace Stevens, of Alabama, decided to plant some okra seeds for the first time, back in March. An average okra plant grows 4-6 feet tall, but theirs kept on growing to incredible heights. The tallest okra in their garden, is also the tallest okra in the world, at 16 feet, 10 inches!
