It’s World Techno Day! Techno is electronic dance music with a strong beat. Get some glow sticks and party lights, turn up the music, and have a techno dance party! It’s also Pastry Day, so eat some cakes and pies. After all, you need to keep up your energy, to continue dancing all day!

Paper Snowstorm

Children in Canada set a new world record, when they made it snow. Actually, they only made snowflakes, but it was the longest chain of paper snowflakes ever. The 2,190 snowflakes were decorated with children’s concerns about climate change, then assembled at the Toronto Zoo’s polar bear exhibit, to form a chain 1,324-feet-long.

Alligators Don’t Make Good Pets

Alligators aren’t normally found in Pennsylvania, so fisherman were shocked to find one in the Lehigh River. A local reptile and animal sanctuary, rescued the 3-foot-long gator from the frigid waters. It was probably someone’s pet, that was abandoned when it got too big. Looks like the animal sanctuary, has a new resident!

A Purr- Fect Reunion

When a stray cat got sick in Texas, a concerned human called animal rescuers to help. They discovered the cat had a microchip, and tracked down its family. It turns out, Monkeyface had disappeared 6 years ago, and then the family had moved. They were overjoyed to be reunited with their long-lost kitty!

Fresh Minty Breath is the Bonus

Scientists know masks can help prevent the spread of COVID-19, because they block spit from flying everywhere when you talk. Now they’re testing a special chewing gum, that traps the virus. While an infected person chews the gum, their spit will be less contagious, even if they don’t know they’re carrying the virus.

Hulk Pop!

Tom Kent is a balloon artist that makes costumes. He recently broke his own world record, by creating an 11-foot-7-inch Incredible Hulk costume, out of balloons! He wore it at the Liverpool Comic-Con in England. After Tom was done wearing it, he let kids help him pop all the balloons.

Don’t Let That Food Go to Waste

412 Food Rescue, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, had a challenge. They were collecting huge amounts of donated food, that would have been thrown away, but had no way to turn it into individual meals. They created their own kitchen, called the Good Food Project. They’ve distributed 57,000,000 meals, made from 70,000,000 pounds of surplus food!
