They’re actually seeds, formed on the bottom of cashew apples. Look up a picture of a cashew tree! Then celebrate Espresso Day, by sampling some strong coffee.

Find the Fibonacci

The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers, where the next number is found by adding the 2 numbers in front of it. 0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8, and so on. Keep the sequence going, for Fibonacci Day! Find the sequence in nature, by looking for spiral patterns in pine cones, sunflowers, or snails!

Littering is Dangerous to Animals

A bear cub in North Carolina, was hoping for a tasty treat. Instead, she ended up spending several days, with her head trapped in a plastic food container. Luckily, wildlife officials were able to tranquilize the young bear, and get the jug off. After finding no injuries, they released her back to the wild.

Here’s a new word for you to learn. Agrivoltaics. It’s a way to combine solar energy, with harvesting crops. Researchers studying agrivoltaics, found that growing plants underneath fields of solar panels, helped the crops grow better and need less water. Meanwhile, the panels produced more electricity, and give farmers shade, while weeding their garden!

Pup on Wheels is a Hero

After 1,000,000 Americans picked their favorite candidate, the votes are in. A 4-year-old hound mix named Boone, is 20 21’s Hero Dog of the Year. Boone had to have his back legs amputated, after being abused as a puppy. Now, Boone has a loving family, a wheelchair, and a job as a therapy dog!

Machine Sells the Joy of Giving

Vending machines are everywhere, selling sodas and snacks. But in 10 cities around the US, you can now find, Giving Machines. The machines let people give anything from a goat, to polio vaccines, to a day at Yankee Stadium, by making a donation to different charities. The giver gets a postcard, and good feelings.

Ultimate Nerf Weapon

An engineer in Alabama, has built the world’s largest Nerf gun. YouTuber Michael Pick, recreated a Nerf N-Strike Elite Longshot, that’s 300% bigger than the original toy. It’s over 12 feet long! The 12-inch-long darts, made of foam and PVC pipe, can travel 250 feet, and reach 50 miles-per-hour. I think we should surrender.

Alaska-What-Oh?

Have you ever heard of an alascattalo? It’s an animal that’s a cross between a walrus, and a moose! The alascattalo lives in Alaska. Also, Alaskans made the animal up. Alascattalo Day celebrates the humor of Alaskans, who hold a parade in Anchorage. It starts at 12:03, goes one block down an alley, and is 4 minutes long.
