Bouncing in the Streets

It might not be the quickest way to travel, but it’s certainly the bounciest. David Kay, of Blackpool England, bounced over 10 miles on a space hopper. He kept popping the big inflatable balls, despite someone sweeping the path clean. Aftr 17 hours, he’d bounced far enough, to break the world record!

Canned Goods for Miles

A South African charity, had the mother of all food drives. They collected enough canned goods, to break a world record. Ladles of Love arranged 90,450 cans of donated food, into a line that was 4.1 miles long. That will feed a lot of people, a lot of meals.

Purple Shmurple

The purple woman’s silver spirit turned the chimney orange. Most of the words in that sentence don’t rhyme with anything, perfect for No Rhyme (Nor Reason) Day! It’s also Tofu Day. Made from soybeans, it’s a great alternative to meat in any dish. Fried tofu in ginger-soy sauce is my favorite.

Everyone Loves Letters

Today is World Letter Writing Day. E-mail is easier, but there’s nothing like getting an actual letter in the mailbox, complete with a cool stamp. Write a letter about your summer, your first week at school, or your awesome orange cat. It’s also Ginger Cat Appreciation Day! Give your orange kitty some extra love!

Just Go Away!

Have you ever thrown something at someone, who won’t stop annoying you? Scientists studied Octopolis, an area near Australia with large numbers of octopuses. They saw octopuses throw shells and debris at other octopuses, that wouldn’t leave them alone. They gathered objects in their arms, then blasted them out with a jet of water.

A Healthy Body Needs to Move

We already know, that sitting in one place all day, is bad for your body. Now we know how much exercise you need, to make up for it. After a full day of sitting, you’ll need at least 30-40 minutes of building up a sweat, to counteract it. Balance your video-game marathons with workouts.

Killer Whale With Legs

Egyptian scientists found a 43,000,000-year-old fossil, in the Sahara Desert. It was a type of whale, with legs. The 4-legged creature, named Phiomicetus anubis, lived in the water, and ate like a vicious predator. Whales used to be deer-like plant-eaters, that lived on land. They sure have changed a lot over the years!

Do It for the Donuts

Krispy Kreme has been giving a free donut every day, to anyone who’s received a COVID-19 vaccine. Now they’re giving each person an extra donut, to share. The second donut is heart-shaped, because getting vaccinated helps protect everyone. Spread love, not COVID. Bring your vaccination card, for a daily double-dose of donuts.

Energy Boost

Today is Trail Mix Day. That means you can take the last of all your bags of pretzels, peanuts, chocolate chips, pumpkin seeds, raisins, and whatever else you like, and mix them together. Then go for a long hike and eat your snack for energy! Yes, walking around your house counts!
