A school cafeteria in India, had an unexpected visit, from a leopard. The big cat wandered in, after getting into a violent fight with another leopard. The cafeteria was sealed off until animal rescuers arrived, and took the leopard to a Wildlife Center to recover, before being released back into the wild.

Solar panels generate electricity from the sun, but they have another benefit. The panels partially shade the ground below, giving wildflowers the perfect place to grow. Pollinators like bees and butterflies, seem to prefer these patches as well. Flowers bloom later in the shade, giving bees food over a longer period of time.

Today is Kitten Day. Your cat might not understand your meows, but you can communicate with your eyes. Just narrow your eyes, and blink very slowly at your kitty. It’s like a friendly smile, and can make a wary cat approach you. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a slow-blink smile in return!

Professor Zhen He, doesn’t think wastewater is full of waste. Dirty water is full of organic material, that bacteria can eat. He developed a system that turns wastewater into biogas and bioelectricity, while filtering the water clean for reuse. Using bacteria that could live without oxygen, wastewater becomes useful again.

Former US President Jimmy Carter, and his wife Rosalynn, just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. When Jimmy was only 3, he met his newborn next-door neighbor Rosalynn. She became best friends with Jimmy’s little sister, but it wasn’t until she was 17, that they went on their first date. They’ve been together ever since.

Aisha Nieves was browsing shelter sites, to adopt a pet, when she spotted her long-lost dog. Kuvo had disappeared 2 years earlier, when a car damaged their fence. He’d been taken to a shelter and adopted. Luckily for his old family, he was put up for adoption again. He was so happy to return home!

While you’re cruising between the classic cars, keep your hands clean by eating your snacks on a stick. World Kebab Day, calls for supper on a skewer!

Today is Sugar Cookie Day. Find an easy recipe online, or buy a roll of dough if that’s easier for you. Sugar cookies are the best, because you can decorate them with sprinkles, icing, or food dyes. Use cookie cutters to make different shapes, or make one cookie as big as your head!
