Bobby Gamache’s World of Warcraft marathon lasted 44 hours, 44 minutes, and 44 seconds. He livestreamed on Twitch, and chatted with his viewers to help stay awake.

Underwater Friends

A couple who went scuba diving recently, near the Galapagos Islands, had some underwater fun with sea lions. The large sea lion population included curious juveniles, who came over to investigate the divers. They filmed the playful young sea lions, who swam around them, and copied their flips and turns.

Time to Update the Menu

While the Leaf in Liverpool cafe in England was undergoing renovations, workers uncovered 108-year-old artifacts. Tucked away in the ceiling, was a menu from 19 13, and a waiter’s cap, from the Yamen Cafe and Tea Rooms. The current cafe’s owner, plans to recreate some of the menu’s items, but she’ll have to charge today’s prices!

What a Wonderful Weed

Dandelions get a bad rap, but they’re amazing plants. Bees love them, they’re easy to grow, and every part is edible. They can be used to make wine, coffee, salads, jelly, and even tires! A company in Germany called Continental Tires, is using dandelion rubber, to produce their Taraxagum bicycle tires. That’s just dandy!

Today is Sea Monkey Day! Sea monkeys are actually brine shrimp. Scientists have shown that swarms of brine shrimp in the ocean, can create powerful underwater currents. They migrate vertically to the surface every night to feed, churning the ocean and causing turbulence. Trillions of organisms moving together make a huge impact!
