2 trucks were in a bit of a sticky situation in Pennsylvania. They collided under a highway overpass, causing one truck to spill it’s cargo of syrup. I wonder if it was maple or blueberry? No one was injured, but somewhere, there will be some very disappointed pancakes.

This is International Dark Sky Week, so turn your eyes to the stars. There’s so much light pollution, that it’s hard to find dark skies anymore. You can help by turning off outdoor lights, or using shields to project the light downward. You’ll see more stars, and make bats happy too!

Archaeologists in Egypt, found something buried in the sand. It was a 3000-year-old city! They have been uncovering the mud walls of the Golden City, known as The Rise of Aten. It was built during Amenhotep the 3rd’s reign. He was King Tut’s grandfather. Houses in the city are filled with artifacts. Incredible!

Today is Encourage A Young Writer Day, so I’m encouraging you, yes you, to write a story! Use your imagination, to make it as silly, scary, or realistic as you like. It’s also Farm Animals Day, so you could add a talking cow, or a chicken that wears a tutu. Anything is possible!

Today is Siblings Day, so thank your brothers and sisters for being born! You might not always get along, but you can always love each other. It’s also International Safety Pin Day. In 1849, Walter Hunt sold the rights to his amazing little invention, the safety pin, to the W R Grace Company for only $400!

Have you ever made music, by tapping glasses of water? You can play different notes, depending on how full the glass is. The Miniatur Wunderland museum in Germany, set up a model train, and lined its tracks with water glasses. The train tapped the glasses as it traveled, playing a world-record-setting 2,840 musical notes!

20 to 25 monkeys escaped from a zoo in Germany yesterday, and police are advising people, to be on the lookout. The Barbary macaques are about 2 feet tall, and may have gotten out due to construction work. The monkeys are not dangerous, but they might steal your bananas if you’re not paying attention.

If you’ve always wanted to live like royalty, you can enjoy the next-best thing this summer, by picnicking like a princess. For the first time, Queen Elizabeth will be opening the Buckingham Palace gardens to the public. 29 acres filled with thousands of trees, hundreds of different flowers, and the Palace bees, await your visit.

Comets and asteroids are whizzing through space all the time, leaving tiny fragments behind. Scientists are collecting space dust in Antarctica, to see just how much makes it to Earth. After 20 years of measurements, they estimate 5200 tons of micrometeorites reach the Earth’s surface each year. I think I just inhaled a piece of comet.
