Kitty Saves the Day

Sandi Martin’s family recently adopted a cat named Lilly, in Sherwood Oregon. Sandi noticed Lilly sniffing oddly, at their gas fireplace. It turned out to have a dangerous gas leak, which was so faint that the humans hadn’t smelled it. What a nice way for kitty to say, “Thank you for my new home.”

People in California were excited to see mysterious lights in the sky this week, wondering if they were UFOs. The lights turned out to be SpaceX satellites, which orbit much closer to the Earth than most satellites, and reflect light. 60 Starlink satellites had been launched 2 days earlier, to provide Earthlings with better internet service.

Saving Stunned Sea Turtles

People in Texas have been struggling to stay warm, and find clean water, after a polar vortex swept icy temperatures into the area. Sea turtles have also been shocked by the unusual weather. Volunteers on South Padre Island, have rescued nearly 5000 turtles, who can’t move in cold water. One turtle is 400 pounds, and 150 years-old!

Baby Eagles Coming Soon

Eagles all over North America are busy with their nests, and some have laid eggs. Eagle pairs will add to the same nest year after year, building them up to 8 feet deep and 9 feet wide! Find your favorite eaglecam online, and watch eggs hatch, and parents feed their growing eaglets, throughout the season.
