Today is Create A Vacuum Day, but it doesn’t mean suck up all the snacks. A vacuum, is a space where there is no matter, or where the pressure inside a space is lower than the pressure outside of it. A suction cup creates a vacuum. Look online, for easy vacuum experiments to try.

I think it’s a day for feeling warm and cozy. It’s Sweater Day! Turn down the heat and dress in your favorite sweater. Be careful not to spill soup on it, because it’s also Homemade Soup Day. Try making vegetable soup with all the leftover vegetables in the fridge, and save some for me!

In the last 5 years, David Rush has broken over 150 Guinness world records. He was at it again, this time on a balance board. The Idaho man juggled 3 balls, while standing on a board, balanced on a cylinder. He continued juggling on the moving board, for nearly 2 hours and 40 minutes, demolishing the old record.

When Wendie Taylor had her wedding gown professionally cleaned and preserved after getting married, she packed it away without looking at it. 14 years later, she opened the box to show her daughter, and was shocked to discover she had the wrong dress! She’s posted photos on social media, hoping someone recognizes their gown.

Yesterday was Groundhog Day, which is Punxsutawney Phil’s big day. But he isn’t the only famous groundhog around. Chunk is a groundhog with its own YouTube channel. Researchers devised a test, to see if your dog is actually a genius. Get 2 new toys, repeat the name of each toy 4 times, and add them to a pile of objects your dog already knows by name. Now ask your pup to bring you one of the new toys. How smart Is your dog?

Today is Carrot Cake Day. The natural sweetness of carrots, makes it one of the few vegetables that sound good in a dessert! You can even make a version for dogs, to celebrate Golden Retriever Day. The gentle dog is one of the most popular breeds for families in the United States. Good doggie!

12-year-old Haddon Haste wanted to break a world record, while he was stuck at home during the pandemic. He decided to assemble a LEGO set as fast as possible. Haddon built a Star Wars Millennium Falcon micro fighter, in under 2 minutes! Haste means excessive speed, so he had to live up to his name!

Let’s celebrate World Wetlands Day! This year’s theme is Wetlands and Water. Wetlands are swamps and marshes that act like a sponge, absorbing water to reduce flooding during wet seasons, and releasing it to delay droughts and water shortages during dry spells. Wetlands are also important animal habitats. Explore some wetlands near you!

It’s Groundhog Day! The official weather-predicting groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, emerged from his burrow and saw his shadow. That means there will be 6 more weeks of winter. But Martinsburg Maxwell, a groundhog with a degree in meteorology, said, “Phil’s only right 20% of the time. It’s impossible to accurately predict weather that way!”
