As the sun sets tonight, go outside and watch for the moon to appear on the Eastern horizon. January’s first full moon is called the Wolf Moon, and it will look orange when it rises. Every full moon has a special name. In May, it will be a Super Blood Flower Moon Eclipse.

A Parade That Stands Still

This year, the Carnival season of Mardi Gras, will look a lot different in New Orleans. The pandemic will make it unsafe to have crowded parades. Instead of creating elaborate floats for the parade, some people are decorating their houses. They’ll sit on their house floats, throwing beads and trinkets to pedestrians walking by.

Linda Tutt High School, in Sanger Texas, has a well-stocked school store. Instead of the standard school supplies, it carries fresh food, pasta, and laundry detergent. The best part? It’s all free. Students run the store to give them job skills, and learn the value of helping the community.

Kazooberry Pancakes

Throw some blueberries in your pancake mix, because it’s Blueberry Pancake Day. After you finish breakfast, hum your favorite tunes, on an annoying instrument, to celebrate Kazoo Day! You can play it while you’re working, since it’s also Have Fun At Work Day. It won’t bother anyone else at all, haha-haha-ha!

Did you know, there are over 4,000,000,000 LEGO minifigures in the world? The LEGO bricks sold in a single year, would circle the Earth 5 times!

Send More Jenga Sets

If you have a set of Jenga blocks, stand one up vertically, on its end. Now, try to balance more blocks on top. How many did you stack? A 12-year-old from British Columbia Canada, is the block-stacking master. Auldin Maxwell stacked 693 Jenga blocks, on a single vertical block. That’s a new world record!

A Better Way to Grow

A company called AppHarvest, is building the world’s largest indoor farms, in Kentucky’s Appalachia region. Using recycled rainwater and no chemical pesticides, the farms provide fresh fruits and vegetables all year long. The farms produce 30 times more food than conventional farms. Instead of mining coal, the Appalachian agricultural center can mine carrots!
