Mark Rober was an engineer for NASA, so he was up for the challenge of creating a swimming pool filled with Jello. Since firm Jello is made with boiling water, which then needs to cool in the fridge, it was harder than you’d think. He succeeded, and doing belly flops and cannonballs looked amazing!

It’s Rocky Road Day! Rocky road ice cream and fudge is made with marshmallows, nuts and chocolate. No rocks. Also, did you know June is Camping Month, and International Mud Month? Hike down a rocky road to go camping in the mud, to celebrate everything at once.

During a 100 meter race in China, a surprise competitor nearly won. A stray dog decided to join in the fun, and entered the race, coming in second place! Locals say the dog’s been hanging around for 4 years. Apparently, he finally had enough of being a spectator, and wanted to show off his running skills!

The 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee had so many champion spellers, they started to run out of challenging words. They finally had to award the trophy, and $50,000 each, to all 8 finalists! Rishik Gandhasri, Saketh Sundar, Erin Howard, Shruthika Padhy, Abhijay Kodali, Christopher Serrao, Sohum Sukhatankar, and Rohan Raja, are 12-14 years old, and awesome. A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Awesome.

Did you know, some sunscreens can be harmful to coral reefs? It’s World Reef Day, and these important ecosystems are in trouble. Plastic pollution in the ocean, harmful chemicals from tourist’s sunblocks, or rising water temperatures of only 2-4 degrees Fahrenheit, can cause coral reefs to eventually die. Let’s all work to save the reefs!

How far would you tumble for a hunk of cheese? In Brockworth England, the annual race sent people down Cooper’s Hill after an 8 pound wheel of Double Gloucester cheese. The hill is so steep, it’s almost a cliff, and nearly impossible to stay on your feet. Cheese-rollers have bounced and rolled in Gloucestershire for over 100 years!

Singer Katy Perry, has designed a pair of shoes that might make you hungry. The sneakers are called The Munchie, and they look like hamburgers! The brown shoes have sesame seeds on top, a green lettuce ruffle, and cheese, mustard, and ketchup stripes. You’d have to forgive a puppy, who ate your hamburger shoes!
