The water reservoir in Los Angeles California doesn’t look like water. The surface is covered with 96,000,000 black plastic balls. The shade balls help prevent evaporation, keep algae growth to a minimum, and prevent harmful bromate from forming in the water. It’s like a giant ball pit, that tricks you into getting soaked!

France is holding an international design competition, to replace the roof on the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, destroyed by fire last month. One plan features a stained-glass spire, and greenhouse system, to provide energy and food. Other designs turn the rooftop into a bird sanctuary, or fill it with beehives. What great ideas!

Lightweight styrofoam coolers might be convenient, but the disposable containers aren’t nice to the environment. Igloo decided to produce an eco-sensitive cooler called RECOOL. Made out of paraffin wax and recycled tree pulp, it can hold 75 pounds, keep ice frozen for 12 hours, and hold water for 5 days. Then you can recycle the 10 dollar cooler!
