Ancient Walking Whale

In the Playa Media Luna in Peru, an ancient whale was discovered. The fossil skeleton is a new species, named Peregocetus pacificus, meaning the traveling whale that reached the Pacific Ocean. The 42.6 million year-old whale could walk on land with long-toed hooves, use its tail like a paddle, and swim like an otter!

Reviving Lakes in India

Ramveer Tanwar is a 26 year-old engineer on a mission. His home region in Uttar Pradesh India, was plagued by repeated droughts. The lakes were polluted and drying up, so he recruited help to pull trash from the lakes, install water filtration systems, and plant trees along the shorelines. He’s revived 10 lakes in only 5 years!

Awesome Beavers

Today is Beaver Day! Beavers are the national animal of Canada. The master engineers build dams and canals, and make lodges out of mud and sticks. Their dams create valuable wetlands.
