What’s for Breakfast?

If you were in Sarajevo 2 days ago, you may have smelled pancakes. 140 Balkan chefs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Slovenia, cooked up a record-breaking 14,186 pancakes! Visitors to Sarajevo’s tourist fair got to eat some, and the rest were delivered to orphanages, senior centers, and migrants. pancakes for everyone!

Long Wait for a Short Ride

The first Hyperloop tunnel, an underground high-speed transportation system, is scheduled to open to the public on December 10th. The system will carry passengers under Los Angeles, at speeds up to 155 miles per hour! The day after it opens, free rides will be offered. If you’ll be in California, go check it out.

Animate Your Chocolate

Chocolate lovers, today is your lucky day. It’s National Chocolate Day! People have been eating chocolate, made from the seeds of cacao trees, since at least 1900 BC. Be sure to watch some cartoons while you enjoy your chocolate, because it’s also Animation Day. You could even make your own stop-motion animation video!

Just Some Old Newspaper

You never know what you’ll find at the thrift store. Someone recently donated a framed newspaper to a Goodwill store in the United States. It was from 1774, before the American Revolution! The staff at Goodwill had it authenticated, and believe it’s probably worth around $18,000. What a generous donation!

Halloween Chickens

A recent misunderstanding had chicken owners upset. The Centers for Disease Control didn’t say, you couldn’t dress your chicken up in a costume. They simply advised people to wash their hands and the costumes afterwards! The rest of us who don’t have chickens, can still appreciate seeing photos of chickens dressed for Halloween!
