Corgi Cuteness Overload

Last Sunday in Washington DC, you may have been bombarded by cuteness if you came across the Million Corg March! They didn’t quite get a million marchers, but there were definitely hundreds of adorable short-legged corgis wandering around! Many were dressed in costumes, from coffee cups to crowns, but dogs and people all had fun!

Booby Escapes the Heat

The brown booby is a large seabird found in tropical areas like the Caribbean Sea. But one recently took a vacation to Prince Edward Island Canada. Passengers on the ferry from Caribou Nova Scotia, to Wood Islands noticed the booby hitching a ride. He stayed overnight, then returned on the ferry the next morning!

Stuck On Octopuses

This week, the New England Aquarium honored 84 year-old Wilson Menashi. He has volunteered over 8000 hours at the aquarium, mostly working with octopuses. The cephalopods needed entertainment, so he created toys and puzzles for them to solve. Wilson is a retired engineer, who has found a new calling in his friendship with the intelligent octopuses!

Cruise On Home

Kenneth Capron has an idea for using an old cruise ship docked in Maine. He got permission to work on Hope Harbor, a project that will provide temporary housing, social services, and job skills training on the ship. It can house up to 800 homeless people and others who need shelter.
