The Vansledrights’ wedding day didn’t quite go as planned. 90 minutes before their wedding reception, they found out the caterers had the wrong date, so no food was prepared! The couple begged the Sonder eatery next door for help. Nick Ruesticus and his staff heroically served dinner and cocktails for 150 people and saved the day!

That’s a Real Hole

Anish Kappor is an artist who makes super-black, light-absorbing artwork. His 1992 piece, Descent Into Limbo, looks like a 2-dimensional cartoon hole on the ground, although it’s actually 8 feet deep. It’s so convincing that a man taking a closer look at the artwork fell into it! That’s why you don’t touch the artwork!

Kitten Invasion!

The Hogle Zoo in Utah is a good place to see some unusual kittens! Jilin, an Amur leopard, made her first appearance to the public. So did Amari, a black-footed cat. 5 Pallas cats named Tashi, Kaz, Bataar, Pema, and Nox completed the kitten party. They were all born in May, and are purr-fectly adorable!

Google Your Illness

A team of Australian health researchers surveyed patients in hospitals, to see if people searched online for their medical problems, before coming to the emergency room. About half of them had, and it turns out it was helpful. The patients were able to describe their symptoms more clearly, and understand the treatments better.

Mosquitoes on the Radio

Turn off the TV and put down your screens today. It’s National Radio Day! The radio was invented in the late 1800’s. Before television, people gathered around the radio to listen to shows, like Dragnet or Gunsmoke. It’s also World Mosquito Day. Mosquitoes spread malaria and other diseases. But they’re great food for bats!

N.Y.U. MDs with No I.O.U.s

The New York University School of Medicine announced this week, that it would give free tuition to all M.D students! This will save students over $55,000 per year, and help them focus on becoming outstanding doctors. NYU hopes it will inspire more people to become physicians, if they can eliminate medical school costs.
