They are also useful for printing body parts! 3D printers supplied a dolphin with a new tail, repaired an eagle’s beak, and printed a replacement shell for a turtle. From prosthetic arms for humans, to rhinoceros horns, the possibilities are endless.

It appears Santa may have to relocate his workshop. The official North Pole has moved! Earth’s magnetic North Pole has shifted in recent years, so it’s 34 miles closer to Russia. The shifting of magnetic North and South poles is normal, and periodically, they even flip! The last flip happened 780,000 years ago.

A Better Way to Make Steel

It takes a lot of coal to produce steel. The steelmaking industry burns about 1,000,000,000 tons of coal every year, and each ton of burned coal produces 3 tons of carbon dioxide, which is really bad for the Earth. But a German company has successfully built a hydrogen-powered blast furnace, which only emits water vapor. Awesome!
