A dust storm on the planet Mars, that started in May and engulfed the whole planet, is finally starting to die down. The storm had caused the Opportunity rover to go into hibernation mode, and it needs solar power to charge back up. Hopefully the dust will settle in a few weeks!

A recent study using eye-tracking devices, showed that more than half of drivers, don’t check properly for bicyclists. Especially when there are parked cars and irregular bike lanes, some drivers didn’t even glance at cyclists, before they made a right turn at an intersection. For your safety, always assume drivers don’t see you!

Lefties, this day is for you! It’s International Left-Handers Day! About 10% of the population is left-handed. To stand out today, make people awkwardly shake hands with their left hands. Ask right-handers to write, or throw a ball with their left hands, for a good laugh.

A man in Germany panicked and called the police, when a baby squirrel wouldn’t stop following him. The situation was under control soon after the police arrived, when the squirrel fell asleep. He was just an orphan looking for a replacement mother. Animal rescuers named the squirrel Karl-Friedrich and are now raising him.

Vegan food brand, Dandies, and Pollution:Studios teamed up to create the world’s largest s’more. Even better, they made it vegan, with no animal products whatsoever! The 4 by 8 foot sandwich had 80 pounds of graham crackers, 150 pounds of dark chocolate, and 100 pounds of marshmallows roasted by 600 people! Delicious!

Paul Crowell of San Fransisco California, started feeding dogs in homeless communities 5 years ago, when he worked at a company that threw out extra dog food. After the company changed hands, he could no longer take the extra food, so he started Project Open Paw. The organization gives food and medical care to needy dogs!

He started planting a tree every day. 40 years later, he’s created 1,360 acres of forest inhabited by elephants and tigers, and he’s still planting trees!

Remote controlled toys are fun, but they seem like they constantly need to be recharged. Well, the remotely controlled Zephyr S is a lightweight airplane, that flew for 26 days straight! The drone with an 82 foot wingspan, is solar powered. It flew in the stratosphere at 70,000 feet to avoid weather and other air traffic.

Landon Richter and his friend Conway might only be toddlers, but they figured out how to entertain themselves and Dozer, the dog next door. A fence separates the yards, but the boys throw their ball over the top. Dozer drops it back through a hole in the fence! Walls can’t stop their friendship!
