Sometimes zoos hold a contest when a new baby is born, where people can vote for their favorite name. The North Carolina Zoo took it one step further, by letting a baby rhino’s father make the final decision. Stormy had 3 poles labeled Diana, Nandi and Mamba, to choose from. He picked Nandi, the Zulu Queen!

A dog in Texas named Baloo, loves to play in the water sprinkler. The 5 month-old pup loves it so much, that he decided to bring it inside! Baloo dragged the sprinkler in through his doggie door, soaking the living room, the television, and his humans! He must have wanted to share the fun.

Scientists have listed some of the worst smells in the world. They include durian fruit, the stinking corpse lily flower, Vieux Boulogne cheese, the lesser anteater, and the planet Uranus. They found that bad smells have heavier, more spread-out molecules. Maybe the molecules want to get away from each other, because they stink!

Physicists have all the fun. They’ve managed to twist beams of laser light into knots! Researchers used polarization and holograms, to manipulate the vibrating particles of light. They tied many complex knots in order to study the spaces in between, which are known as Seifert surfaces. I wonder if they can tie laser shoelaces?

Last week, residents in Boise Idaho woke up to find 118 goats, eating everything in the neighborhood! Goats can be clever escape artists, and these ones had broken through a fence in a nearby field. The goats were rounded up and returned home. No one will need to mow their lawn this week!

A German group was attempting a new world record involving 596,229 mini dominoes. 22 people had already spent 2 weeks, setting them up with tweezers; but before they could finish, a fly landed on a tile and triggered them to fall prematurely! There was no time to set it up again. That must have really bugged them!
