Giant Sand Castle in NYC

There’s a new castle in New York City, and it’s made out of sand! The sand castle, created by sculptor Ted Siebert, stands 16 feet high. It’s part of the Rockefeller Center’s “Sand and Surf” installation in the Channel Gardens. You can visit it until September 7th. I wonder who gets to knock it down!

Tying Light in Knots

Physicists have all the fun. They’ve managed to twist beams of laser light into knots! Researchers used polarization and holograms, to manipulate the vibrating particles of light. They tied many complex knots in order to study the spaces in between, which are known as Seifert surfaces. I wonder if they can tie laser shoelaces?
