9000 years ago, cats started hanging out with humans. Humans began farming, rodents were attracted to crops, and wild cats came to catch the rodents. The farmers appreciated the free pest control and rewarded them with food scraps, semi-domesticating the cats. Genetic research shows cats are still mostly wild and tame themselves!

Wooden Skyscrapers

A new material is shaping skyscrapers these days. It’s called cross-laminated timber, or CLT, and is produced in the small town of Riddle Oregon. CLT is made by glueing panels of wood together in layers. Plyscrapers are earthquake and fire resistant, cheaper to build, and environmentally friendly!

Real Life Horror Story

Naskrecki extracted one, but let the others continue their life cycle and filmed the whole process. Watching maggots make their film debut is both revolting and fascinating!
