Giant Hogweed Hurts!

The toxic giant hogweed has been found in Virginia for the first time. The plant’s sap burns the skin, and can even cause blindness. Originally from Asia, the giant hogweed is now spreading throughout the world. It can grow 14 feet tall, with large white flowers. Look up a picture, so you won’t ever touch one!

Ireland’s Surrounded by Shipwrecks

The Irish government has released a map showing thousands of shipwrecks around Ireland. Called the “Wreck Viewer”, the map includes approximate locations, as well as ship names and other information when available. But most of the 3554 wrecks are unidentified. The map doesn’t even show the other 14,414 shipwrecks surrounding Ireland, because their locations are unknown!

I’m Knot Telling You My Name

The Inca Empire, which lasted from 1400 to 1532, still holds mysteries. They communicated using khipus, instead of written words or pictograms. Khipus are knotted string devices, where the knots can represent numbers, names, or even stories and ancient philosophies. Translating the knots are like code breaking, and nobody’s been able to crack the code!
