16th Century Medicine was Crazy

An online exhibition by the New York Academy of Medicine contains a fascinating anatomy book. “Fasciculus Medicinae”, printed in 1491 and revised throughout the 16th century, shows the evolution of medicine. Illustrations of Disease Man, Wound Man and Zodiac Man taught doctors methods to diagnose the plague, treat arrow wounds, and let blood.

Yay, Cheerleaders!

A high school basketball game in Carroll County Missouri this week showcased kindness. One team had only one cheerleader. The rest of her squad was sick and she seemed embarrassed to have to perform on her own. So cheerleaders from the opposing team learned some of her cheers and joined her! Hooray!
