8-year-old Tyler Stallings, has spent half his life helping homeless veterans! He’s been making Hero Bags, filled with clothes, toothbrushes, and other necessities, for veterans. Tyler has also raised over $40,000, to help thank them for their service. He’s even co-authored a book, called “Including Stories That Make A Difference By 75 Kids Who Changed Their Worlds.”

Have you ever enjoyed a nice relaxing float on your back, in a pool or lake? Veterans in the US are finding relief from pain and post traumatic stress disorder, with flotation therapy. Warm salt water allows them to float easily, and lower blood pressure, pain, stress, and anxiety. It’s like deep, healing meditation.

At the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, 101 years ago, the armistice marking the end of World War One was signed.  November 11th is Armistice Day, although the United States celebrates all armed forces members with Veterans Day, and the Commonwealth of Nations, France, and Belgium celebrate Remembrance Day.

Have you ever seen a backwards waterfall? Garry McNabb was visiting Ireland’s famous Cliffs of Moher, and captured video of water pouring up the wall! The winds were so strong, that they were blowing water from the ocean hundreds of feet below, straight up and over the face of the cliff!

New York City streets, are about to get safer for bicyclists. The Streets Master Plan includes 250 miles of new bike lanes, that will be separated from traffic. They’ll also build 150 miles of separate bus lanes, and 1,000,000 square feet of pedestrian space, by 2021, to encourage eco-friendly transportation, and help keep traffic flowing!

Stella the dog is learning to communicate using words. Her human, Christine Hunger, developed a soundboard, with buttons for different words. Stella can press the buttons to say she’s happy, or wants to go outside, or play with her ball! She already knows 29 words, and combines words to make sentences.

Did you know it’s Manatee Awareness Month? Manatees, also known as sea cows, are slow-moving aquatic mammals, that are vulnerable to extinction. They’re about 10-15 feet long, and have 4 rows of teeth! Manatees live in warm shallow waters, and graze on underwater vegetation. Here’s a fun fact: baby manatees drink milk from their mom’s armpit!

You can eat one while watching Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, and their friends, since it’s also Sesame Street Day.

When traffic is bad, the navigational app called Waze, can find a quicker way to get where you’re going. Getting directions just got more fun, because Cookie Monster can give them to you! Just pick Cookie Monster for the voice option, and you’ll reach that bake sale in a flash!

Joe Whale is a 9-year-old boy from Shropshire England, who is known as the Doodle Boy. He used to get in trouble at school for drawing on the whiteboard. He finally has an outlet for his drawing talent, because the Number 4 restaurant in Shrewsbury, has asked him to cover an entire wall with doodles!
