A security police robot in Los Angeles California, has been patrolling a park since June, but the HP RoboCop can’t actually call the police. When a woman saw people fighting, she tried to alert the robot, who told her to “step out of the way.” She still had to call 9-1-1 for help!

Many kids in the United States don’t have access to washing machines to clean their clothes, and it can cause them to miss school. The Whirlpool company has started the Care Counts laundry program, which provides washing machines and dryers to schools. It has improved attendance in 82 schools so far!

Tonight may be a good night to see some meteors! The Draconid meteor shower should be visible in the early evening, and is caused by debris from the 21P/Giacobini-Zinner Comet. The Comet 2P/Encke is responsible for the South Taurid meteor shower. Debris burns up in the atmosphere, creating fireballs that streak across the sky.

Varieties of cheese like Gorgonzola and Camembert, are encouraged to grow mold. That’s what makes them so delicious!

A man in Tennessee was at a customer’s home, when he heard someone honking the horn in his work van. He went out to investigate, and found that 2 bear cubs had locked themselves inside, along with his keys! They had fun honking the horn like kids, while he worked on getting the door unlocked.

Guinness World Record-holder David Rush, nearly set another record, for identifying the most ice cream flavors while blindfolded, in one minute. He was in the middle of saying the tie-breaking 12th flavor, Java Chip, when the timer went off, so it didn’t count. He’ll have to practice eating more ice cream, and try again!
