An odd thing happened in Virginia over the weekend. 50 people woke up to find an old TV on their front porches. Several security cameras caught the deliveries on video, and the story was even weirder. The TVs were left by people wearing televisions, covering their heads! A recycling truck picked up the unwanted televisions.

Scientists have developed a vaccine to keep your cat from making you sneeze, and you don’t even have to get the shot! Your cat gets the HypoCat injection, which destroys the allergy-causing Fel-d1 protein. Here, kitty kitty!

The North American walnut sphinx caterpillar doesn’t want to get eaten, so it’s developed an effective method to defend itself. It let’s out a full-body scream, that stops birds in their tracks! The sound mimics the warning cry of some songbirds, and can be 80 decibels loud. That’s like a freight train, from 50 feet away!

It’s World Calligraphy Day, celebrating the artistry of writing. You can use a fountain pen, a wide-tipped marker, a brush, or a feather quill and ink. Look up calligraphy styles, and practice writing each letter carefully. Even a shopping list can look like a fancy wedding invitation, when written in calligraphy!

Did I say yesterday was Creamsicle Day? I meant today! Creamsicles are vanilla ice cream on a popsicle stick, covered with an orange flavored coating. 11 year-old Frank Epperson, made the original creamsicle in 1905, when he experimented with freezing orange juice around a vanilla ice cream popsicle. He originally called his inventions, “Epsicles”!

A Kingsnake had to be rescued from itself, when it swallowed 10 inches of its own tail! It’s not uncommon for snakes to bite themselves, but they usually figure out their mistake and let go. This one, named Kronos, needs to pay more attention! What a silly snake!

NASA’s Curiosity Rover has been on Mars for over 7 years now! That’s 5 years longer than originally expected. It’s traveled 13 miles around the Gale Crater, providing us with more information on water, boron, organic compounds, and methane. Also, the skies on Mars are red during the day, with blue sunsets! Curiosty is satisfying our curiosity!
