A Newark New Jersey school, has kids eager to come back on the weekend. West Side High School’s Lights On program, gives students the opportunity to hang out at school, instead of on the violent streets. Principal Akbar Cook, organized activities with volunteers, and opened a laundry room. It has even improved attendance by 10%!

The Event Horizon Telescope captured the outline of the black hole, surrounded by an emission ring, in the center of galaxy M87. You can’t actually see a black hole; you just see the empty spot where everything got sucked in!

Paleontologists have discovered a fossilized relative of the sea cucumber, that looks like a smaller, less fearsome Cthulhu. It’s only 3 centimeters long! Still, with 45 armored tentacles, 430,000,000 year-old Sollasina cthulhu is impressive!
