Printing Your Own Motorcycle

A German manufacturing company has created the first electric motorcycle, that was entirely 3D-printed! BigRep made an e-motorbike, called the NERA, that weighs only 132 pounds. The bike’s seat, bumpers, steering, and even airless tires, were all made on a printer; only the electronics were added. The NERA is not for sale yet. Sorry!

Watching the Earth Spin

Today is Earth’s Rotation Day. The Earth spins on its axis, like a globe. It takes 24 hours, or 1 day, to make 1 rotation, but the rotation speed can change slightly.  In 1851, Leon Foucault demonstrated how the Earth rotates, by hanging a heavy ball, and watching its path change. Watching a Foucault Pendulum swing, is fascinating!

Gimme All Your Mangoes

A teenager and a young elephant had a tug-of-war, and the elephant won. The teen was visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka, when the pachyderm reached over and grabbed her purse! She was able to grab her phone from the bag before giving up. The elephant just wanted the mangoes inside!
