The panettone weighed 732 pounds! Now they just need a massive cup of coffee to enjoy it with!

When Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer, had a package stolen from his porch, he fought back. The police were too busy to investigate the theft, so he designed bait-boxes. When thieves open the stolen packages, they’re bombed with fart smell and glitter! A phone in the box records video, for all to enjoy.

Scientists have found the most distant object ever seen in our solar system. It’s a pink dwarf planet, and it’s 4 times farther from the sun than Pluto. Astronomers have nicknamed it “Farout”, since it’s 11 billion miles from the Sun. Instead of 365 days, it would take the planet more than 1000 years to orbit the Sun!

When Brad and Jennifer Bond got married last week in Florida, the first thing they did was go shopping. The newlyweds took all the guests at their wedding to Target! They gave each guest $10 to buy toys, to give to needy children for Christmas, but most people spent even more. What a great idea!

Today is National Hard Candy Day. Most hard candy is just boiled sugar, with flavoring and color added. Peppermint and lemon flavored drops were used for stomach ailments long ago. Butter rum LifeSavers are my favorite hard candy. What about you? It’s also Oatmeal Muffin Day. It’s great for breakfast when you’re running late!

The deer are at it again. A deer in Ohio got caught in a soccer net, and neighbors had to cut the net to release it. In Wisconsin, a deer got trapped in the basement at a construction site. And in Florida, police investigating a suspected burglary, found a deer stuck in the bathroom!

In New Zealand, even the killer whales are friendly. Playful orcas, a type of dolphin, surrounded swimmers at Hahei Beach. The orca family swam around in circles, perhaps wanting their baby to get to play with a funny-looking human for the first time!

It’s hard to believe, but sometimes entire truckloads of food get dumped in landfills. The Indy Food Network started the Food Drop Program. Now, if a shipment gets rejected by a supermarket because of errors or delay, the drivers can donate the food to food banks. Drivers donated 90,000 pounds of food in only 6 months!

When a woman in Pennsylvania was attacked by a black bear last week, a tiny animal saved her life. Her chihuahua, who is also named Bear, started biting the bear until it let go of Melinda. Both Melinda and her brave little dog, are recovering from their injuries.
