During the recent polar vortex, which has hopefully moved back where it belongs, people had fun freezing things in the extremely cold temperatures. There was spaghetti frozen with a fork in mid-air, a girl with her long hair frozen straight out, and a bunch of frozen blue jeans, just standing around in the snow!

Fowl Play in California

In California, police responded to a burglar alarm at someone’s house, expecting foul play, but they weren’t expecting an actual bird! A wild turkey had broken a second-story window, and was wandering around the living room. The police said the turkey used fowl language, but was not hurt. They released it into the wild.

As the use of coal declines, and cleaner energy like solar and wind power grow more popular, many coal miners are looking for a new line of work. In West Virginia, some workers are becoming beekeepers instead! The Appalachian Beekeeping Collective gives free equipment and training to new beekeepers, and buys honey from them!

Cupcake Skyscraper

How many cupcakes does it take to build the tallest cupcake tower in the world? How about 18,818! Preethi Kitchen Appliances, and Food Consulate Chennai, worked together to bake thousands of cupcakes, and build a pyramid nearly 42 feet tall! After the record was verified at a mall in India, the cupcakes were given to charities.
