When Cindy Lim and Tristan Years started traveling around the United States with their new baby, they decided to try to break a world record. 5 month-old Harper Yeats will be the youngest person to visit all 50 states! Harper’s Instagram page features her in front of each state’s welcome sign. Only one state to go!

The Jacksonville Zoo in Florida recently welcomed a new baby. Kumbuka, a Western lowland gorilla, gave birth to an adorable cub! The zoo staff is helping Kumbuka care for her baby girl. The cub won’t be named until November 17th. For now, we’ll just call her cutie-pie!

It’s a community refrigerator where people can donate spare food, for anyone to take. Germany, Spain, and India also have community fridges. What a great way to share!

Halloween is coming, which means you can buy candy corn. Someone loves candy corn so much, that they baked it onto their pizza. Apparently, it made the pizza moist and tasted disgusting, just as you’d expect. Perhaps you should try Christmas Tree flavor crisps instead. They’re potato chips flavored with pine salt!

For the last 2 weeks, a beluga whale has been swimming in the River Thames in London. He’s about 11 feet long, white, and has a bulbous head. There are no plans to relocate the visiting whale, nicknamed Benny. Although belugas are usually found in Arctic waters, Benny seems to be doing just fine!

Every year, Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska has a “fattest bear” competition. This year, the public voted for 409 Beadnose. Her “radiant rolls” of “fabulous flab”, and “marvelous muffin top” put her over the top. Beadnose has a few more weeks to stuff herself before the brown bears start to hibernate.

The Baltimore Maryland Library System was recently voted one of the nicest places in America. It does more than just loan out books. The library also provides classes, activities, and the services of lawyers and social workers. There’s even a job center on wheels. A bus will bring the library to you!

Last Sunday in Washington DC, you may have been bombarded by cuteness if you came across the Million Corg March! They didn’t quite get a million marchers, but there were definitely hundreds of adorable short-legged corgis wandering around! Many were dressed in costumes, from coffee cups to crowns, but dogs and people all had fun!
