A 14 year-old Egyptian girl just broke the record for the world’s longest dive. She stayed underwater for more than 2 days! Reem Ashraf was submerged for 55 hours in the Gulf of Aqaba. She learned how to sleep underwater, and lived on a liquid diet. I don’t think I’ll ask about the bathroom.

A photographer in New Jersey captured a rare sight: a quintuple rainbow! Supernumerary rainbows are when there is one bright rainbow, with 2 or 3 dimmer ones next to it. But to be able to see 5 at once is quite unusual! That rainbow must have had a massive pot of gold at the end of it!

The birds in Minnesota are getting tipsy. Robins, thrushes, and other birds that eat berries have been flying into windows and generally being clumsy. An early frost caused the berries to ferment, and the birds are getting drunk! They should sober up once all the berries are gone, but they might have hangovers!

A Brazilian surfer officially set a new world record for the largest wave surfed by a woman. Maya Gabeira flew across a wave 68 feet tall! The World Surf League caught video of the ride at their competition in Nazare Portugal. After her serious injury in the same spot 5 years ago, it’s a fantastic comeback!

This summer, an 8 year-old girl named Saga Vanecek was boating in Sweden. Lake Vidöstern was extremely low because of a drought, and she found a sword in the shallow water! It was 33 inches long, preserved in a wood and leather scabbard, and could be from pre-Viking, Iron Age times. It’s an estimated 1500 years old!
