Female mosquitoes have big appetites. They need the proteins in blood, to produce eggs. Researchers decided to see if giving mosquitoes appetite suppressants, would make a difference. They reacted as if they’d just had a meal, and didn’t bite anyone. Basically, they gave mosquitoes diet pills, and it actually worked! No idea’s too crazy!

She submerges her art into the sea, which has an extremely high salt content, for months. The salt crystallizes on her work, creating a sparkling collaboration, between human and nature.

When the land surrounding a coal mine in China collapsed years ago, the cavity filled with rainwater and became a lake. The water was mineralized and useless, until now. At Americas High School in El Paso Texas, there is a welding team. They are making news because it’s the school’s first all-female team! Since Veronica Garcia started teaching the welding class, more girls began joining. The welding industry is dominated by males, so seeing a female team at competitions will be inspiring!
