When Khemjira Klongsanun was running a marathon in Thailand, she spotted an anxious little puppy alongside the road. He looked lost, so she scooped him up and carried him, on the last 19 miles of her race. Her search for the puppy’s owner was unsuccessful, so she named him Chombueng, and adopted him herself!

There’s a crazy new item on the menu at KFC. It’s a Cheetos Sandwich! It has a layer of crunchy Cheetos cheese snacks, as well as a special Cheetos sauce. It’s only available in limited areas in the southern U.S., but may expand if people like it. Do you think it sounds good?

Today is World Read Aloud Day. People read books to kids who can’t read on their own yet, and that’s great. But it shouldn’t stop! Whether someone reads a book to you, you read a book to someone else, or you listen to an audio book, make reading aloud part of your day!

You might need a few extra Jenga sets, to beat Tai Star Valianti’s balancing skills. He set an official world record by stacking 353 wooden blocks, on top of a single block standing on its end. His unofficial record is 423, so he’ll be trying to break his own record before long!

Whether you’re in the middle of a heat wave or the polar vortex, it’s nothing close to the limit. Absolute zero, when every skerrick of heat energy has been sucked out, is -459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. Absolute hot, the highest possible temperature, is 2.556 trigintillion degrees Fahrenheit: 2556 followed by 30 zeroes. Our sun’s core is only 18 million degrees!

The extreme cold that has caused many schools to close, can be a rare occasion to make it snow. If you have temperatures colder than 25 degrees below 0, you can create your own snow with an adult’s help! A pot of boiling water thrown into the air will vaporize and fall as snow.

There are lots of fun things to do in cold weather. Make candy by boiling pure maple syrup and pouring it onto clean snow. Watch a balloon deflate outside and re-inflate indoors. Try blowing bubbles high in the air and watch them freeze on the way down! Just wait until it’s not dangerously cold!
