In the waters near the island of Kauai Hawaii, scientists have spotted a new animal. It’s a cross between a rough-toothed dolphin and a melon-headed whale! Researchers have named the hybrid Steno bredanensis. They also saw one melon-headed whale living with the pod of dolphins, so she was probably the mama.

Inspired by their grandfather, famous mountain climber Little Karim, 3 teenage girls from Pakistan made history. 13 year-old Amina Hanif, 14 year-old Maryam Bashir, and 15 year-old Siddiqa Batool scaled the nearly 20,000 foot Manglessar peak, in the Karakoram mountain range. Their grandfather climbed with them, and wants to encourage more women in Pakistan to take up mountaineering.

A Merganser duck in Minnesota has everything under control, including 76 ducklings! Merganser ducks use a creche system, kind of like daycare. The mother ducks at Lake Bemidji leave their babies with one experienced mom, while they molt their feathers. She was seen swimming with the line of 76 little ones following behind!
