He had to superglue his skin together after his fingers started to crack. Scott had 500 songs on his playlist, and raised money for Musicians Making A Difference.

There’s a new way to catch and measure electron beams, that’s revolutionized electron microscopes. Instead of building an image based on the location of electrons, it detects the angles of each electron’s reflection. That means scientists can study molecular structures more clearly. They can even measure the bonds between atoms!

Today, the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championships take place! Kids age 7 and up, will race down a 989 foot hill in cars they built, powered only by gravity. The race brings champions from all over the world to Derby Downs, in Akron Ohio. You can watch it on YouTube. Good luck, racers!

In a few weeks, NASA will launch the Parker Solar Probe. The probe’s orbit will take it inside the Sun’s corona. How can anything withstand temperatures in the millions without melting? If you see a big beluga whale flying through the sky, don’t freak out. It’s just an Airbus BelugaXL cargo plane! The bulbous forehead lifts open to load large cargo, like aircraft wings. The plane, which is painted to look like a smiling whale, took its maiden flight over France.
