ZooAmerica at Hershey Park welcomed 5 new babies last month. Four pronghorn fawns were born, named Amy, Megan, Callum and Kathy. The pronghorn antelope is the fastest animal in North America! A harbor seal pup, named Cocoa, was also born. She already weighs twice as much as when she was born!

Diamond rings are beautiful and sparkly. But one ring sparkles just a little more, with a record-breaking 6,690 diamonds on it! The ring is shaped like a lotus flower, with 48 individual diamond-covered petals. The ring’s creators, Vishal and Khushbu Agarwal, hope to raise awareness about water conservation, with the 4 million dollar ring.

23 year-old Miranda Wang, and her co-founder Jenny Yao, have started a company called BioCellection. The Canadian researchers developed a way to break down plastics that are difficult to recycle, using a chemical process. The process turns plastic into liquid chemicals that can be used instead of petroleum, to make nylon.

Lynea Lattanzio loves cats. She started rescuing cats from overcrowded animal shelters, and taking in kittens. Soon, her house filled up and became “The Cat House on the Kings.” It’s home to 1100 cats! She moved out, and has 45 volunteers to help take care of them. She’s saved 28,000 cats over the last 24 years!

The rumors were true: a band of white-faced capuchin monkeys have entered the Stone Age. Tiny monkeys on Jicaron Island, in Panama’s Coiba National Park, use large stone tools to smash open nuts and shellfish. They also defend themselves with sticks. Nanook is a heroic husky living in Alaska. When hiker Amelia Milling fell over 600 feet, the dog showed up to guide her back to the trail. Nanook hiked with the injured woman, and dragged her across a river. After news of the rescue got out, others came forward to say Nookie had rescued them also!

Officer Darren Derby is helping his police department become a true friend to the community, in Pittsfield Massachusetts. In the past, he’s helped build basketball courts and given away toys. Now, the department owns an ice cream truck. Operation Copsicle means officers can volunteer their time to give out free ice cream!
